Frequently Asked Questions

  Q. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH FREEFLEX SHAFT TO CHOOSE?

A. The FreeFlex shafts can be chosen by your average swing speed, and your feel preference during the swing.
Although the FF38 and FF45 shaft are recommended for swing speeds between 80~100mph and 95~120+mph,
respectively, both are capable of handling much higher speeds.

  • Choose FF38 if you are a swinger-type golfer with a smooth tempo and transition, and prefer a smooth feeling in the swing and at impact.
  • Choose FF45 if you are a hitter-type OR swinger-type golfer, but with a quicker tempo and transition,
with a preference for a firmer overall feeling in the swing and at impact.

Like any shaft pushed to its limits, the both models will offer high club speed and distance, but at a risk of less accuracy if struck off-center
(which is more likely the faster a club is swung).

  Q. WHAT IS THE IDEAL DRIVER LENGTH AND SWING WEIGHTS WITH FF SHAFTS?

A. FreeFlex is not a plug and play shaft, so try at various swing weights and driver lengths to find your optimal performance.
As each golfer and driver heads are all different, there is no 'correct' driver length that will fit everyone.
When fitting the shaft to the club head, we recommend that the butt end be trimmed in small 1/4" increments, so that you can try the driver out at various driver build lengths for the best feel and performance numbers.
We have seen it perform for golfers using it at 44"~46" build lengths. Uncut shaft length is 46", so with the head attached can be as long as 48".

  Q. WHAT SWING WEIGHT SHOULD MY DRIVER BE WITH FF SHAFTS?

A. The recommended swing weight can be between D1~D4 (38-series) and D0~D3 (45-series), but this is not set in stone.
Again, try trimming the shaft from the butt end in increments and test it to find you optimal swing weight and driver length.
Our FF shaft butt ends are specially coated so that the grip can be slipped on with just the solvent or an air gun.
In this manner, the grip can be easily applied and removed during the trial process to find your ideal swing weight.
When the optimum length and swing weight has been determined for your particular swing, then grip tape can be used to affix the grip permanently.

  Q. CAN FF SHAFTS BE TIPPED?

A. The FF shaft tips are tapered to fit most all heads from 0.325~0.335" and tipping can be done to better fit certain adapters and drivers with fixed (short) hosels.
Specifically, FF shafts can be tipped up to one-inch without affecting performance, as the Oblique Order (special weave technology) begins at about 1.5~2 inches from the uncut tip.
In addition, FF shafts can also be extended from the butt end (1~2") without much noticeable performance changes, as long as the overall swing weight is within the recommended range.

  Q. ARE FF SHAFTS PURED? HOW SHOULD THE SPINE BE ORIENTED?

A. Every FF shaft has its spine indicated by a clear logo on the shaft.
The spine indicator is where the shaft is the strongest at, and should be inserted into the club head with the indocator facing up at address.
Another useful tip about the spine indicator is that by turning the shaft counter-clockwise to have the indicator pointing slightly to 10 or 11 o'clock position may help to lessen hooks and draws.
Similarly, setting it at 1 or 2 o'clock at address may help a slice.
Adjustable hosel will affect it just as any other shaft when adjusted to new lofts or angles, so keep the above in mind.

  Q. WHAT IS THE COST AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THE SHAFT?

A. The retail price of a FreeFlex driver shaft is US0, and international shipping fee if . Adapters are available for five brands (Callaway, TM, PING, Titleist, Cobra) only at each.
